Privacy Policy
Updated 28 October 2026
This policy explains what DOWN BAD keeps and shares when you play. DOWN BAD is published by Electra Games (“we”, “us”), which is responsible for it. Electra Games is run by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [ADDRESS].
In short
- No account to make. We never ask for your real name or email.
- No cookies, analytics, ads, trackers or crash reports. The game never asks for your location.
- The runs you finish are sent to us for the leaderboards, with the board name you pick and a random player id your browser makes. Your wallet address is never sent to us.
- Nothing is for sale, and we never ask for payment details.
- We do not sell personal information.
What your browser keeps
The game uses your browser’s local storage to remember, on your device:
- that you agreed to the terms, and which version;
- a random player id, made once, that ties your runs and your board name to this browser (it is a secret, never shown);
- your wallet’s public address and which wallet app you used, if you connect one (SIGN OUT removes them);
- your best run: its score, depth, time and ride, and every input you made in it, which plays back as your ghost;
- the ride and the stage you last picked;
- your sound settings: mute, music level and effects level;
- how much the game downloaded last time, to size its loading bar.
The inputs of the run you are playing are held in memory until it ends. To delete what your browser keeps, clear this site’s data in your browser.
A controller, full screen and sound work on your device only.
What we keep
For the leaderboards our server keeps:
- each run you finish: its inputs, score, depth, time, ride and the day it was played, for up to 35 days, and your best runs on the boards for as long as those boards run;
- your board name, if you pick one;
- a scrambled form of your random player id (never the id itself), for up to 400 days after your last run;
- your IP address, for about two minutes, to limit how often one address can send runs.
Runs under a minimum score are not kept. We rely on our legitimate interest in running fair leaderboards for this.
What other services see
Our host. The game, its fonts included, is served by Vercel. Like any web host, it receives your IP address, your browser and device details and the files requested, and may keep them in its server logs to run and protect the service. We rely on our legitimate interest in running and protecting the game for this, and our host keeps its logs only as long as its own settings and policy allow.
Our database. The leaderboards are stored with Upstash, a database service that holds them for us.
Your wallet. If you connect one, your wallet app or extension sees that this site asked for your address. Your wallet is run by its own provider under its own privacy policy. We never ask it to sign anything. Until you sign out, the game reads your address again each time you come back, and follows a change of account in your wallet.
These services may handle data in other countries.
Children
DOWN BAD is for players 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you think a child has given us any, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights
You control what the game keeps: sign out of your wallet in the game, or clear this site’s data in your browser.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information about you, to object to how it is used, and to complain to your data protection authority. Contact us with any request, including to remove your runs and board name.
If the game changes
We may later add accounts, prizes or payments. Those would need more information, such as your wallet address shown on a board, or the details needed to pay a prize. We will update this policy, and tell you in the game, before any of that starts.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy, and will change the date above when we do. Questions or requests: [CONTACT EMAIL].
